Northwest Awards & Biennials: A Panel Discussion

You know what your friends and fellow artists think about Biennials (or what they tell you out loud that they think…”Oh, was that my outside voice?”), but don’t you want to know what the curators, “the deciders,” think about them? I’m not sure how much we’ll know at the end of the panel discussion today at the Portland Art Museum about what the curators REALLY think, but the promise is that we’ll hear what they publicly think about “how best to recognize the art and artists of the region,” that is, a discussion of the CNAA’s and Biennials.

Bonnie Laing-Malcolmson moderates a panel including Rock Hushka, chief curator at the Tacoma Art Museum and Bruce Guenther, chief curator and curator of modern and contemporary art, Portland Art Museum.

It’s today, Sunday, July 17 at 2 PM. $5 members; $12 non-members.

I’ll report back from the front lines (or the back row).
